Marine grade adhesive vinyl Surfboard Sticker incorporating SAMS shark deterrent visual technology. The scientifically developed banded ‘Diverter’ pattern based on specific colour, contrast, shape and size breaks up the silhouette of the boardso that is appears unlike normal shark prey and reduces the risk of a mistaken identity attack. It is recommended to use a shark deterrent sticker or inlay in combination with a shark deterrent wetsuit for maximum coverage.

SMS has developed new visual technology that is applied to potentially reduce the risk of shark attack. The visual designs are based on recently developed science of shark vision, neurology and behavioural effects.

This visual technology has been labelled Shark Attack Mitigation Systems (SAMS) technology.

Translation of the scientific data has resulted in two design strategies to offer protection to the wearer

​ELUDE: The first is to hide the wearer in the water column (or make the shape of the wearer more cryptic) using disruptive coloration and shaping from the perspective of a predatory shark. 

DIVERTER: The second is to overtly present the wearer as unlike any shark prey (such as a seal) or even as an unpalatable or dangerous food option.
